Constellation Box

This copper box is topped with a luminous constellation of enamel on copper. It opens to reveal a small world within. It is made of enamel on copper, copper with patina, eggshell mosaic, reticulated silver and silver.

The copper body of this box is colored using a special patina process and then the color is sealed with lacquer and wax. While the coating is quite durable, it can be abraded or scratched. This necklace should not be left in very hot temperatures or submerged in hot water or lacquer thinner. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The fit of the lid is quite tight, and the box should be opened with care, to avoid damaging the eggshell mosaic.
